Welcome To Our Mission

At My Tree Legacy, we believe that when we regenerate the land, we regenerate life.

Our mission is to restore native ecosystems through practical,

on-the-ground regeneration while inspiring others to connect with nature and become part of something bigger than themselves.

Not just the forests, rivers and wildlife around us—but the people and communities who care for them.

From planting native trees and restoring wildlife habitat to sharing real lessons from the land, everything we do is guided by one simple belief: small, consistent actions can create lasting change.

Our family has already planted more than 22,000 native trees at Khemeia Valley in Northland, New Zealand, and this is only the beginning.

Whether you choose to plant a tree, support our regeneration work, or join our community, you're helping create a living legacy for future generations.

We'd love for you to walk this journey with us.

About Us

We are the Harris whānau—kaitiaki (guardians), dreamers, builders, and earth-lovers—living in harmony with nature and raising our tamariki (children) to cherish the whenua (land).

My Tree Legacy weaves our family's passion for sustainability with Khemeia Valley, the physical embodiment of our values: regeneration, reciprocity, and a deep connection to the natural world. Through tree-planting and community initiatives, we are creating lasting legacies that honor both people and place. To learn more about our journey, visit our Khemeia Valley website.

Our Ongoing Projects

Growing Beyond Trees

At My Tree Legacy, our mission extends far beyond planting trees. While reforestation is at the heart of what we do, we are equally committed to fostering thriving ecosystems through comprehensive land regeneration, pest and weed management, and broader conservation efforts. By prioritizing biodiversity, we aim to create sustainable, resilient landscapes that benefit both nature and communities for generations to come.

Tree Planting

Our Tree Planting initiatives form the cornerstone of our mission to restore and enrich our landscapes. We carefully select native species to enhance biodiversity, stabilize soil, and sequester carbon, ensuring each tree contributes to a healthier ecosystem. Our planting projects are designed with long-term ecological benefits in mind, fostering resilient habitats for wildlife and communities alike, while laying the foundation for thriving, sustainable environments.

Land Regeneration

My Tree Legacy’s Land Regeneration efforts focus on revitalizing degraded and marginal landscapes to restore their ecological vitality.Through strategic revegetation we transform land that is depleted, compacted, and struggling into thriving habitats. Our holistic approach integrates native flora and sustainable land management practices, ensuring long-term resilience and supporting biodiversity for future generations of New Zealand’s unique ecosystems.

Pest Management

My Tree Legacy’s Pest Management initiatives are vital to protecting our local ecosystems from invasive species that threaten native flora and fauna. Through targeted and consistent control measures, we manage pests like possums, rats, rabbits, stoats, wasps, wild pigs and goats, using environmentally safe methods. Our efforts ensure that regenerating landscapes and wildlife habitats remain resilient, supporting biodiversity and safeguarding the ecological balance for future generations.

Conservation

My Tree Legacy’s Conservation efforts are dedicated to protecting and enhancing New Zealand’s unique biodiversity. Beyond planting trees, we are looking to become a part of kiwi and bat monitoring programs and helping to preserve their habitats through targeted initiatives. By fostering healthy ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices, we ensure the long-term survival of our precious wildlife and the vibrant natural heritage of Aotearoa for future generations.
